Frequently Asked Questions

Involvement

  • Because we are friendly, reliable and have something special to offer that you can't just get anywhere else

  • Reliable, professional and pleasant to deal with

  • Friendly, attentive to the person and pleasant to deal with.

  • We offer a wealth of hiking experience in all kinds of weather and conditions, so we know what it's like to struggle and persevere to get where we want to be; or to turn back when circumstances dictate. Furthermore, we both have extensive personal and professional experience, which helps us understand problems and navigate situations effectively.

  • At the first viewing, especially at the end when 3 eagles came circling above our heads

    • The moisture issue really made us question our options. Can we overcome this financially, and how

    • When Aad's training program was restructured, we realized it would make things even more difficult financially. Initially, the plan was for Aad to work and Jeanette to supervise and assist with the renovation. Now we're going to do it together. Hopefully, it will go faster and we can reduce the costs even further by doing more ourselves.

    • The permanent residency: whether we can really rely on email. Everyone says we can, and we're counting on that. But Italy is Italy, and that's why it will remain a nerve-wracking experience until we actually live there permanently.

  • Then we'll be poor and on the streets—no, thankfully not. We can continue to offer a large portion of all the rewards, but the overnight stays at Casa Longhede won't be possible. Even in the worst-case scenario, it could still work out, but spread out over several years. This means we'll have to live in our tent at 1700m altitude even in winter, and that's going to be a real challenge. But if we can generate income, construction can continue at a slower pace.

  • Haha yes, absolutely, that's what we always think too, but it still turns out to be the reality for us every time

  • Quit? This is our life's dream!

  • Yes, when you're climbing a mountain, it's important to take small steps; that way it's less strenuous. Every step is crucial and offers new perspectives!

  • A certificate showing your contribution. Towards the end of the renovation, we'll contact you in order of donations to schedule your visit. If you donate first, you'll have the first choice of scheduling.

  • Casa Longhede is a mountain house located beneath Longhede Mountain. Casa means house, and Longhede is the name of the mountain peak that watches over our house.

  • The charming house, the location is perfect, slightly challenging in winter due to the short walk. Surrounded by nature, in full sun without mountains or trees, within half an hour of the valley, and supermarkets 15 minutes away, yet surrounded by complete tranquility and fantastic trails for short walks or long hikes in the backyard.

  • The exact date for the renovation completion is not yet known. We expect to schedule the rewards in 2027.

  • The beauty of nature, silence, small scale far away from mass tourism and real attention for the person

Financial

  • The renovation of Casa Longhede, especially the underfloor insulation, is so expensive that we're left with a €60,000 shortfall. Your money will help bridge that gap.

  • Then the project will be delayed considerably, depending on how much it means that we will be living in the tent at 1700 meters in the winter, or living in a bare house (hopefully with a hot shower, but no kitchen), or that the ground floor will already be finished, but the guest room or the windows can only be finished later.

  • This money will be reserved for when you arrive to cover those costs, as we will have no income at that time and will have already spent a large portion. We will then alternate paid work with cashing in your reservations.

  • Donations aren't tax-deductible, but you're truly helping us make our dream come true!

Except for loans, which are tax-deductible, and we can send invoices to businesses.

  • Once the renovation is complete, we will schedule the rewards. The renovation is expected to be finished before winter. Depending on your reward type, our availability, and the level of interest, you can be scheduled in 2027 or, if there are many registrations, in 2028. Because we're working in between, we can't schedule back-to-back programs.

  • To a separate account that we only use for Casa Longhede expenses.

  • Yes, we like that!

  • The house will be ours on March 31st. Renovations will begin at the end of April, and the developer expects the house to be ready within four months, subject to approval. That's truly a utopia, but to get a head start financially, we're already fundraising now to ensure that progress is held up as little as possible by funding. And if it doesn't work out and we raise far too little money, we'll have to activate new scenarios. That also takes time.

  • Today you can follow us and actively like us on social media. If it feels right, you can help us tremendously by sharing the project with your network, preferably multiple times. And if you're tempted by one of our rewards, please book, if your financial means allow. Even small steps help; with just one step, we'll keep moving forward.

  • Yes, if you'd like to work in a cool environment, you're welcome. You'll sleep in a tent, possibly your own if several people come at once, and we'll provide food.

  • Some of the tours will always remain available, while some of the overnight stays are strictly for crowdfunding. The crowdfunding will continue until we have sufficient funds, or if we experience further setbacks and the amount needs to be increased, you can still join.
